What exactly am I buying when I buy a Bodymics microphone?
You are purchasing the microphone element worn by the performer. It connects to a compatible wireless transmitter pack. The transmitter and wireless receiver are separate pieces of equipment unless a product listing specifically states otherwise.

Can I use Bodymics with wireless systems I already own?
In many cases, yes. Choose a Bodymics model with the appropriate connection for your compatible wireless transmitter.

How do I know which connector I need?
Check the manufacturer and exact model number of your wireless bodypack transmitter. Match that transmitter to the connector option offered on the Bodymics product page.

Is every transmitter from the same manufacturer wired the same way?
Not necessarily. Some manufacturers use different connectors across different wireless product families, which is why confirming the exact transmitter model is recommended.

Can Stage Gear help me identify my wireless system?
Yes. Provide the manufacturer and model number of the transmitter you own. Photos of the bodypack, connector, and label can also be useful when identifying the correct microphone connection.
Do I need to buy a complete wireless system?
No. If you already own compatible wireless transmitters and receivers, you can purchase the appropriate Bodymics microphone elements separately.

What if I only need extra wireless microphones for one production?
Stage Gear offers wireless microphone rental options for theatres that need additional equipment for a production without purchasing an entire permanent system.
How does the Cast Pack offer work?
Buy 4 Bodymics microphones and get a 5th free: pay for 4, get 5; pay for 8, get 10; pay for 12, get 15; pay for 16, get 20. Every 4 Bodymics of the same style and capsule size (for example, 4 mm earsets) earn one more of the same mic, up to 4 free per style and size. Colors, boom lengths and wireless brands can mix. We add the free mic to your cart automatically. Free Cast Pack mics can't be returned for a refund; if one fails within 1 year of delivery, we exchange it for the same model.
What is strain relief and do I need it?
Strain relief reinforces the point where the cable meets the microphone, one of the most vulnerable spots on a bodyworn mic. It's a $10-per-mic option on Bodymics earsets and headsets, added before your mic ships. We recommend it for student casts, dance-heavy shows and mics shared across productions.
