How it works

One headset runs the show.

The stage manager wears the master headset. Everyone else wears a remote. There is no base station to set up and no cable to run, so the system goes wherever your crew goes.

How a Solidcom wireless intercom covers a theatre Floor plan. The stage manager wears the master headset near the proscenium. Remote headsets at stage left, stage right, fly rail, deck and props, the followspot in the house and the booth all link to the master wirelessly. No base station, beltpacks or cables. 1. The stage manager wears the master

The master headset is the hub. It runs up to 7 remote headsets, with no base station and no beltpacks.

  2. Each crew position wears a remote

Booth, wings, fly rail, followspot, deck. Everyone hears every standby and every “go,” and anyone can answer.

  3. Just talk

Full-duplex, hands-free. Flip the mic boom up to mute. Dual-mic noise cancelling keeps calls clear during loud musical numbers.

Choose your system

How many people need to hear the calls?

Count every headset, including the stage manager’s.

Typical positions: stage manager, lights, sound, stage left, stage right, fly rail, followspot and deck or props. Have a director or ASM on headset during tech? Count them too.

Four things theatre teachers ask us.

Full-duplex

Full-duplex or push-to-talk?

Full-duplex means everyone can talk and listen at the same time, like a phone call, so nobody has to hold a button while running a cue. If a position needs it, the earcup button can be set to push-to-talk, and flipping the boom up mutes the mic.

1,100 ft

How far does it reach?

Up to 1,100 ft line-of-sight on license-free 1.9 GHz DECT. Walls, concrete and steel shorten range in any building, so if your booth or dressing rooms are far from the stage, tell us the layout and we’ll check it with you.

10 hrs + swap

Will the batteries last through tech?

About 10 hours per battery on each remote headset and 4–5 hours on the master. Batteries are hot-swappable and every kit includes two per headset, so swap the master’s at intermission.

2-wire / 4-wire

Already have a wired intercom?

The Solidcom C1 Pro Hub connects wireless headsets to an existing 2-wire or 4-wire system (Clear-Com, RTS). The Hub is quoted to your setup.

FAQ

Wireless intercom, answered.

Still unsure? Call 718-874-2642. You’ll reach people who work in theatre.

What is a wireless intercom?

A headset system that keeps the stage manager and crew on one continuous conversation during rehearsals and performances, so standbys, warnings and cues reach everyone at once. A wireless system does it without running intercom cable through the building.

Do I need a base station or beltpacks?

No. With Solidcom C1 Pro the master headset runs the system. There is no base station to rack, no beltpacks to clip on and no cable to run through the house.

How many headsets do I need?

One for every person who needs to hear calls: usually the stage manager, lights and sound operators, each wing, the fly rail, followspot operators and deck or props. One master runs up to 7 remotes, so one system covers up to 8 people. Use the chooser above or tell us your positions.

What is the difference between full-duplex and push-to-talk?

Full-duplex works like a phone call: everyone can talk and listen at the same time, hands-free. Push-to-talk means pressing a button to speak, like a walkie-talkie. Solidcom is full-duplex; flip the mic boom up to mute, or set the earcup button to push-to-talk.

How far does it reach?

Up to 1,100 ft line-of-sight on license-free 1.9 GHz DECT. Walls, concrete and steel reduce range in real buildings, so if your booth or dressing rooms are far from the stage, tell us the layout and we will check it with you.

How long do the batteries last?

About 10 hours per battery on each remote headset and 4–5 hours on the master. Batteries are hot-swappable and every kit includes two per headset, so you can swap the master battery at intermission. For long tech weeks, add spare batteries or a second charging case.

Can I connect it to our existing wired intercom?

Yes. The Solidcom C1 Pro Hub connects wireless headsets to an existing 2-wire or 4-wire system (Clear-Com, RTS). The Hub is quoted to your setup: ask us for a Hub quote.

Can I add headsets later?

Yes. Add remote headsets to an existing C1 Pro system at any time, up to 7 remotes per master.

Can my school pay with a purchase order?

Yes. We offer formal quotes, PO payment and tax-exempt orders. Request a quote and we will send one your purchasing office can use.
